SMS Consent & Disclosure
Last Updated: February 4, 2026
1. Overview
HailMate requires explicit, affirmative consent before any SMS/MMS messages are sent. Consent must be optional, separate from other terms, and disclosed at the time of phone number collection.
2. Contractor Account Messages (HailMate Users)
Contractors who book a demo at https://hailmate.ai/book-demo receive transactional messages about that appointment only — a confirmation of the time they chose, a reminder the day before, and a reminder with the join link about an hour before. These are not marketing messages, and the disclosure below appears directly above the button that submits the booking. Contractors opt in separately for account messages during registration in the HailMate app.

3. Homeowner Messages (Contractor-to-Customer)
Contractors must obtain explicit consent from homeowners before any messages are sent. Consent is collected in person — when a contractor representative meets a homeowner during a neighborhood storm-damage assessment, roof inspection, or estimate request and the homeowner verbally agrees to receive text updates and provides their mobile number — and by phone, when a homeowner calls the contractor or speaks with a representative and verbally agrees. It may also be collected via a contractor web form where one is used. In every case the homeowner is given the disclosures below at the time of opt-in, and the contractor retains a record of the consent (who collected it, when, and how). Consent is optional and is not a condition of purchase.
