What's behind the swath

NOAA data, drawn at street level

A county-wide hail alert tells you a storm happened. It doesn't tell you which cul-de-sac to park the trailer on. HailMate's maps are built to answer that.

One thing to be upfront about

HailMate was built for storm-restoration roofers, and PDR shops came to us because the map is the same map. The hail data, the canvassing, the job records, the photos, the texting, the e-signed authorizations, and the insurance claim tracking all apply to your shop directly — your work runs through comprehensive claims and adjusters the same as theirs. The roof-specific pieces, like shingle line items and roofing supplement letters, you simply won't use. We'd rather say that now than have you discover it in week two.

Hail maps for PDR, answered

Almost identically. Hail falls on a street, not on a trade — the same swath that tells a roofer which houses to knock tells you which driveways had cars sitting under it. The map, the size bands, and the canvassing all work the same way. The one real difference is that vehicles move: radar tells you where the hail fell, and a car parked in that block during the storm took it, while a car that happened to be at work across town did not. Roofs never have that problem. Use the swath to pick the streets, then let the door conversation sort out where the vehicle actually was.
